Ah ha.... this is the ol' pessimist or optimist question. If you pick "once bitten, twice shy" it means you are a cautious person, unlikely to take any risks (thus shielding yourself from life). However, if you pick "three times a charm", it shows you are outgoing and willing to give life another chance - a more optimistic person. - So.... I say THREE TIMES A CHARM!

I go by once bitten twice shy. You have to learn from your mistakes. That doesn't mean never try again, just be more cautious.
