Maybe, but I think if he does have it in mind to run he will come in as everything dissolves for the others. That Mighty Mouse "coming in to save the day" thing. I just simply have a hard time believing that Al Gore, of all people, would rather have a Noble Peace Prize than be President of the United States.
I am not sure that he wants to run again. If he were to lose he would look pretty foolish. It might be he just enjoys the attention, and the praises from his party...trying to secure his name as the "martyred hero".

No, I think he's not running because he's found his niche and he likes it. I read a really good in depth article about what would likely happen if Gore ran. The theory is that he would take votes away from Obama and Edwards, but few from Hillary because her supporters are the most steadfast. In the end, it works out to Hillary getting the nomination with a fairly large majority while the three of them - Gore, Obama, and Edwards end up splitting what's left over. I'll look for it after I post my answer and if I find it I'll come back and leave a link. I think that article covered the whole Nobel Prize thing too.

My best guess is that Gore doesn't really enjoy politics and never has. He was pushed into it, partly by family and partly by his own strong beliefs about policy and issues.
Now out of politics, he's more free to speak out about the things he cares about than he was when he was seeking office. He has significant ability to push issues on to the agenda as an outsider. And he's picked up some business opportunities and is making boatloads of cash that he'd have to give up if he ran again.

Gore will only run if he believes that he can step in and take the nomination without all the campaigning work.
Not to mention that he and the Clintons no longer get along. I don't think he wants to take on the Clinton backstabbing machine.

i understand your question. i dont think i agree with your take on it. i think he is not running because he thinks he wont win. i think if he knew he was going to win the presidency but that running would cost him a nobel peace prize, he would forego the peace prize to be president.

Al Gore is not running because he would lose again- and if Hillary beats him this time, it would be the final humiliation.

Here is my non political view , he is an idiot not worthy of a nobel prize (what did he ever do that was worthy) nor is he sane enough to run the country. He would only embarrass his family running again..Just my 2c.

If you are correct, in which I do not believe so; then he would be smart for one reason; the feather is huge and it makes for great history. But, this also makes him a shallow presidential candidate. His gain is his drive? Not good.

Personally I think he's a hypocritical moron that is trying to snow his constituents into believing he has a green agenda. That's almost as dumb as saying Micheal Moron is bipartisan.
