I think that it is just messed up that she was given a reduced sentence as it was, only to get out in less than a week because she was "close to a nervous breakdown". Come on!

Officers arrested Hilton in Hollywood on Sept. 7. In January, she pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of the alcohol-related reckless-driving charge. She was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.
But the heiress was pulled over again by California Highway Patrol on Jan. 15.
Officers informed Hilton she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive.
Then again on Feb. 27, she was pulled over by sheriff’s deputies, at which time she was charged with violating her probation.
A traffic court judge ruled on May 4 that Hilton violated her probation and sentenced her to 45 days in jail. Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca has allowed Paris Hilton to leave prison after less than four days because of a “medical condition.” She will serve her remaining sentence under house arrest. <<

She is not really getting off easy. She will receive more society wide punishment from this than serving her time in jail.
Her offense was not very extreme, she drove on a suspended license. People want her to suffer because of her personality not her offense.
She was not released, she was changed to a different confinement at a full sentence. She is now under the media eye more at home, so she will not be able to enjoy herself.
A normal person would have not been put in confinement, they would have been put in a social environment. She spent 3-4 days like a death row inmate.
All in all the city saved money on security from the media, and the workers in the jail can return to normal schedule with out having to be harassed by the media when they leave and come to work. Also the tone of the environment inside will be much better with her gone.
Except for those who hate her and want her to suffer, i think this was a win for everyone involved. She drove on a suspended license, that is the scope of what she is serving time for, the media scrutiny is not something any other person would suffer. She will get her just due in the end!

I agree with you 100%. Had that been anyone without a lot of money or a famous name, their happy butts would still be sitting in jail.

I think it is because so many people hate her that they got away with sentencing her to prison to begin with.
Be serious, solitary confinement for a traffic violation? If they do it to her they can do it to YOU.

I dunno but it shows that "money talks" and it's completely unfair. The average person would still be in jail serving the sentence.
