2006 subaru legacy GT or a 2006 nissan altima SE-R..which performes better? which handles better? does the 4WD have better and acceleration or does it just add weight? which is more reliable and safer?

SE-R performs better. GT handles better. 4WD adds weight and slows it down, makes is seem sluggish. Reliable? The GT, if you can tolerate the piston slap (if it has that problem). The GT is safer. It has one of the best crash test ratings, like a Volvo. The GT, like any other Subaru, is quirkier. Subaru engineering and design are very different compared with everything else.

I think the larger Altima sedan would be a better choice in tropical climates. In ice and snow Subaru will excell. The Altima SER did not fly off dealers inventory so some good deals are to be had. Find a Six speed it really accelerates fast. Stock sub 15 second 1/4 mile car.
