What do you, as a single mother, do when you found out your 12 year old son is looking at porn?

I'm at a loss. I don't want to embarass or humiliate him and his father just thinks it's funny, but I think I need to do or say something.

Oh leave him be. Many people look at porn wether they want to admit it or not. I mean hey, I have no problem with it at all. The only problem would be is if porn totally consumed his life or he was looking at terrible "hardcore" porn. Be sure to monitor what exactly he is looking at just to make sure it's okay. Also you should talk to him about pornography.

Is he looking a magazines or movies? It's perfectly natural for guys to be curious about the female form but it can go to far if he is surfing sites on the internet or viewing movies. As a parent of two young men, I would recommend a hear to heart talk with him about human sexuality and how porn demeans it and that while he is in your house, it will not be tolerated.

There is nothing wrong about a boy who is 14 looking at porn. Every kid his age and older looks at porn from one time to another. Porn never hurt anybody and if your kid becomes confused which he probably isn't well then you got to tell him the birds and the bees so they don't see it as sex and too young would be younger than 12 if you are going to do tell them that little story.

You could say something, but chances are he's going to do it anyway. When I was that age we were all pretty facinated with sex. Girls and boys. I used to look at porn if I had the opportunity, or flip through romance novels to read the dirty parts...he's learning about his sexuality. There's not much you can do.

Well, it depends on if he already knows that you know and what kind of porn.If he does not know the fact you know and it might be like naked girl porn i would let him continue be cause he is growing and he is probably curious.If it's lesbian porn and he still doesn't know you know, you need to confront him.It may sound wrong to let your twelve year old watch porn but he is growing.If he does know that you know just talk to him calmly and maybe buy him a video about sexuality etc. but definitely talk to him about it.

Theres not much you can do.
Even if you take the source of the porn away he'll probably find a way around it. I always did when i was younger.
Its not that bad of a problem.

I think that you're son is a little...um...disgusting. But you have to understand that your son is going through changes and this might be some way of relieving desires or something like that. I don't think that you should confront him about it unless it gets really serious. You should probably talk to a doctor, or a school counselor. If you have a friend that's a phsycologist or something, or majored in something related to humans and how they act, maybe talk to them about it causualy, and not mention your son's name. There might be a chance that your son might tell you about it, and he might not. Again, you have to understand that your son is at a very difficult age right now. You're doing great as a single mother of a almost teen and you should keep at it. Hope you follow this advice and I wish you luck.

it's normal. he's just starting puberty. get over it, he's not a baby anymore. he's growing up. but if it bothers you that much take the damn internet away from him.... but im sure he'll find other ways to look at it.

make sure to tell him that it isn't okay to be doing this. in fact, its illegal to watch porn on the internet if you are under 18 or 21 in some states.
if he has questions, tell him to ask his father.

but dont be too hard on him...its better for him to be watching other people have sex than for him to be out there doing it himself

weeelll... a lot of kids at that age look at porn.... guys in my class always did.. *rolls eyes* i find it a really had turn-off for me... but... if ur son did that... iono what to say... hmm.... srry... all the info on me ;)
