i live in pretty small town, post office, beer dist, and two bars. not even a red light.

Yes. All over the place. In Arizona there are several cities that operate with one police officer working during the day and another one "on call" in case somebody needs him at night. Miami, Arizona is one place that I know for sure is like this. In Globe-Miami, AZ EVERYBODY knows EVERYBODY. There's one main road (Hwy 60) and two highschools.

I've been through a few little towns that looked like it-- they are cute & quaint.... not many left
