Okay, so I have a used Dell Latitude D600 laptop. It crashed and I forgot to back-up the files and I need to get some files off of it. So, when I turn it on, it go to the Dell loading screen, then to the Microsoft Windows XP loading screen. After that, it goes black and then turns blue. The blue screen says this:
"STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectaedly with a status of 0xc0000006 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down."
Okay, is it official done or can it be fixed?
Thanks!!

Thank you all for helping, but I just tried that "Last Good Configuration" and it didn't work. If you have any more ideas, they would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new harddrive

Well one the tricks you can do is turn off the laptop completely for about one minute than turn it back on. As soon as it begins click on F2 dell laptops tend to give access to the laptop configuration from there......than under "boot" select another drive except for the c drive than save and exit........if all this fails hold the power button until it shuts down do this twice than the safe boot option should come on don't do this more than three times though......all this is is a glitch between the software and hardware.

Yes, it can be fixed. How? Thats a hard question to answer but I use to have the same problem. I got frustrated and turned off the Pc for about 2 days and when I cam back it stopped but came back after an hour or so. It turned out to be over heading so I took off the sides of my pc to increase the airflow so now you can see throw the pc but I go no death screens. I recommend you try it

You can try shutting down and hitting the F8 key as it comes back up. Then choose last know good configuration. This will select the last know good hardware configuration that worked and loaded windows successfully.

But, yeah, its probably toast.

Check out google.com and type in some of those error messages and see what happens. If not, try going to support.microsoft.com and typing in some of those error messages, Google is unbelieveable for giving answers to such problems! Hope you can find something... most of the time blue screen has to do with hardware. Good luck!

take out your hard drive, get one of those little USB external cases, install your notebook hard drive in it and then plug it into another computer. If the drive is still good then upload the files that you need, then reinstall it back into your notebook and reinstall to factory settings.

The same thing happened to me, that is how I saved a very important file that I had not backed up the day before.

Hope this helps

Try using the 'Last know working windows' or safe mode and try a system restore.
ACcess the menu by pressing F8 after the Dell logo.

This is an error in winlogon. check this out.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;156669

basically, press f8 during startup before the winlogo comes up, and choose "last configuration that worked"

Uggh, I hate that. Try to enter the operating system through "safe mode". I'm sorry.
