It depends. "Classic Rock" has changed - used to be Neil Young, Chicago, ELO, etc. , but now more hard rock and even glam / hairband stuff (according to some answers) falls into that category....though i can't understand why someone thinks Skid Row is classic rock. LOL! What you want depends on what you like - I know classic Hard rock, so if you want some of that i'd suggest:
Queen (not the hits...)
Thin Lizzy
UFO
SWEET
Pat Travers
Yesterday & Today (most notably known as Y&T)
Mahogany Rush
Robin Trower
there's so much that was out there, you might find more than i listed!

Let me try and name some stuff that doesn't get overplayed...
Canned Heat. Great boogie rock here.
Early Doobie Brothers. Check out Best of the Doobies.
The Faces. One of the greatest bands ever, but sadly overlooked.
Foghat. Some rockin' music.
Free. Blues rock with an amazing guitarist.
Grand Funk Railroad. Play it LOUD!
The Guess Who. 60's style rock and roll.
Jeff Beck. As great as Clapton or Jimmy Page, but for some reason not as well known.
Johnny Winter. An AMAZING guitarist, can play rock with the best of them.
Mountain. If you've ever heard Mississippi Queen, that's them.
Rainbow. Ronnie James Dio and Ritchie Blackmore came together to form this band, first three albums are gold.
Santana. Fusion of rock and roll with Latin rhythm.
Ted Nugent. Guitar wildman here!
Thin Lizzy. Hard rock band from the 70's, Phil Lynott was one of the great rock and roll poets.
The Who. Pure energy from this band!

Pink Floyd, Spacy and psychedelic, still simple
and direct with a blues feel, unavoidable,
for example in the progressiv area you have
Genesis, progressiv and melodious, far less Rock,
try their early seventies beginnings with peter gabriel,
then something different going to pop, very english,
like Yes, all a story, a bit classical influences,
very new-age rock,
and later followers like Marillion,
Spock's beard and the Flowers king.
who made enough works to discover.
Asia, very melodious rock act, still going on,
Toto, a fusion beetween rock, pop and other styles
like funk, fusion and even Jazz ,
a more American stamp,
Supertramp, prog, pop with a bit of soul and jazz,
Manfred Mann earth band, highly captivating,
prog and psychedelic
with very funny keyboard lines, and a good voice,
Jethro Tull, unclassified, prog and folk
Less known, check Saga , a canadian works,
full of space keys sounds and ideas...
or Rush, a little more heavier Led Zeppelin,
Deep Purple, AC-DC or Van Halen
for a more hard approach, but there more heavier
than that, there you can choose in a lot of lists you already got before in those answers...but because it's not my cup.
if you like it less heavy and easy for the ears or radios,
you have Foreigner, survivor, Scorpion or Europe.
Queen, very Glam and pompous but unavoidable,
Styx, a great california set from early seventies
to now...very balanced.
and don't forget The Police and Sting, he is gone
in a lot of different fusion or jazzy ways.
but Police mostly rocks...
If you like more soft - try, Barclay James Harvest,
who deals with some folk, very slow.
or Alan Parsons Project, a kind of Pink Floyd evolution
to a mix of soft rock, classical and early electronic experimentations.
Or Electric Light Orchestra,
some rocky parts, some poppy parts,
with a lot of violins and electronics weirdness.
If you like guitars and organs
try Santana (more Latino feel )
or Eagles, and Dire Staits.
If you like Piano and Voice, check Billy Joel or Elton John
but this last one is difficult to avoid, and more pop anyway.
If you like weird woman works (and piano)
check Kate Bush, pop experimentations
and Tori Amos.
Their are so much, and some are quitting a little the rock word , if you had a more precise question ?
