When i say family restaurants, i'm talking pizza parlors, pizzarias, italian restaurants, etc... Not fancy restaurants that exclusively cater for alcoholic needs, but the occasional six-pack of beer.

first it depends on the state you live in because all states have thier own laws regarding serving alchohol.
then if your talking a mom and pop joint they make thier own rules as to who they hire and at what age.

corporate chains do the same...... but they usually go where the state laws fall.
for most states you have to be 18 to serve
but I have worked in places that serve alchohol and hire people under 18, they just can't serve it.
