i asked this yesterday but i want to ask again and be more specific about my pregnancy. 2 weeks ago my babys head was at -2 station and i was 50% effaced and my cervix was closed. i'm 37 weeks as of today and i had gone to my prenatal care appointment 2 days ago and my midwife told me my babys head is at -1 station, i'm 75% effaced & 1 cm dialated. when do you guys think my baby will come? is there a chance she can come by this weekend? i've been adviced to walk a lot and it helps but how much does it help? any advice? i'm really excited and would love to have her come out now. =]

There's no way of knowing based upon how much you have effaced and dilated because for many women this happens over a matter of weeks before going into labor. With my three pregnancies I started dilating a month before I actually went into labor.

So there's probably a 50 percent chance you'll go into labor very soon, like this weekend or first of the week, and a 50 percent chance that labor is 2 weeks or more away.

Best of luck! I know the wait is tough!

I took my older two to a zoo trip. Walked around all day went in to labor the next day. So it is really how much walking are you planning on doing? A baby can stay at 1 cm for a few weeks. Or jump from 1 cm to 6cm in an hour. Some other things to bring on labor: sex, orgasiams, walking around. or I guess only a few things. Some doctors say you can guess by your bowels. How are they moving? You usually empty yourself. I know this sounds gross, but it is true.

Could be tonight, could be 3 weeks from now. With my 1st I was not dilated at all until 41 1/2 weeks when I went in to be induced.

With my 2nd I was 3 cm's dilated for 4 weeks before I had him at 40 weeks exactly.

I am in my 38'th week and want him out tonight as well. He hasn't dropped and I my cervix is still long and hard, but it has stretched some.. but with second babies that can all happen very quickly in labour... she gave me evening primrose to put near my cervix to soften it. And a spray for under my tongue.. some homopathic thing to cause the uterus to contract. I am doing some walking and I am taking raspberry leaf tea today. I started the primrose oil, the tea and the spray this afternooon... I am going crazy with it all... and it is all homepathic.. so if nothing, it is good for me. I am walking as well as soaking in the tub. Tonight better be my night! lol
