Technically, according to NASA, here's what we've left behind on the moon.

Flags and dedication plaques from each moon mission
video camera's at the launch sites
sensitometers
the launch legs for the lunar module
Geologic tools
The Laser Reflecting mirrors
Three golfballs
The Rovers
A gold plated extreme ultraviolet telescope
Apollo backpacks

Yes, but I don't think anyone there is complaining.
It was mostly component parts of the lunar landing modules.
The base of the lunar landing module served as a launching pad when the vessel lifted off for return to Earth.
Since weight is such a factor in space travel, it only made sense to leave behind unnecessary components.
The shock -absorbing components needed to safely touch down on the moon would be unnecessary when splashing down in our oceans. additionally, they would be a problem when reentering earth's atmosphere. They would interfere with the aerodynamics of the reentry module and heat shield, plus, they would just burn up.

It's not trash -- all the remnants are a scientific experiment in the durability of human-made objects to the rigors of space.

not really like trash, they didnt leave chip bags n soda cans, but stuff was left as far a parts but i think it counts more as debris. we leave far more stuff just floatin around after we r done with it in space, so its worse the stuff just left to float.
