More info required like the make, model, motor, trans and the like. Being specific helps a lot as these are not the easiest problems to find a lot of the time. Basic motor checks are for any vacuum leaks, try spraying a flammable cleaner around to be sure. Check all spark plugs for being worn or for carbon tracking. Check all secondary ignition cables for corrosion, carbon tracking or insulation violations. Check fuel and air filters for cleanliness or be sure and just replace them, especially the fuel filter. If there's any codes in the PCM it would help to know if there are and what the codes are. You can try tap testing on the PCM as they were a bunch of crap back then. Check for strong and consistent spark outputs at all of the cylinders. Good luck.

check your throttle position sensor or have it checked at a good tune-up shop, if its out of ajustment the engine will fall on its face when you step on the gas or start moving from idle to full power. ECKLERS corvette parts has an adapter plug and voltage meter to calabrate the sensor ecklers.com
