a single room or have a roommate for your freshman year?

For your freshman year, I would suggest getting a roommate. Hoping you get a good one, you'll make a great new friend and probably find new people to hang out with, if they have good friends at the school as well. Sophomore year and beyond, if you stay in the dorms, get a single.

I had a roommate my freshman year and it was great. She was from Thailand, so I got an international experience and met a lot of great people from Thailand. Sophomore year and next year (my junior year), I have a single. I've gotten accommodated into college life and now would like it to be easier to focus and my work.

I would choose having a roommate (freshman year) than maybe later single room for privacy reasons.
