To drive it- its about 4 1/2 hours (appx. 275 miles)
There are several bus tours to the grand canyon from las vegas
one tour operator charges from $85 -$150 pp the trip starts at 6am and ends around 9pm (link below) for the bus tours but they offer other types of tours as well
I have put a few links below to help you out -
You could also hire a car or a van depending on how many people are in your party and probably do it for less and perhaps see a bit more because you will be on your own time schedule-
No matter what it will be an all day thing - If your looking for places to stay while you do the tour - you could always travel a little further to Sedona 2 hours south of the grand canyon beautiful country - and just 20 min south of Sedona if your wanting to gamble is Camp Verde - they have a casino there on an Indian Reservation. There are lots of nice places to stay from the Grand canyon, Flagstaff (route 66), and Sedona there is also a hotel at the casino in Camp Verde.
Also between the Grand Canyon and Sedona depending on which way you drive it - there is a little place called bedrock - its a tiny little place set up like the flintstones - its quite cute
If you are staying in Las Vegas talk to the conceirge and ask him about things the "locals" do if they want to see these places - it could save you lots of money - instead of just doing what a lot of tourist do as the conceirge is going to be local he or she (if they are good, and even though they get commissions) they will point you in the best direction money wise.
No matter what you decide to do enjoy it - it's beautiful country

By car 30-35 minutes.
Easy take the boulavard to Rte 15 and then get on the 215 east
Take till it ends and will say freeway ends.
You will be on Boulder Highway and Lake Mead
Continue east
You will have a National Park toll plaza.
Have not been there in a few years so do not know today's price for admission.
Then another 20 minutes or less.
It is a great ride.
Take your camera
You will see Roadrunners the bird if you stop at the rest stops.
This is a great ride and lots of interesting things.
At the dam - the squirrles are so tame they will take candy from your hand.
Have fun on this adventure.

It takes about 4 to 5 hours. I would say hire a car and book a motel in Tusyan, a little town right on the enterance to the Grand Canyon National Park. It has the big chain motels (holiday inn, qualtiy inn etc) and a few resaturants and shops.

5-6 hours. You could get to the west Rim in 3-4 hours. The South Rim is a much more popular tourist stop, though.

It's an all day trip but well worth it!! It's about 5 hours away. Once you are in Vegas your hotel can set you up with tours.

West Rim is a 3 hour drive. South Rim is a 6 hour drive.
west rim is where the new skywalk tourist rip off is and South Rim is the more popular - the one with the rangers, paved roads and tress.

speak with your concierge and they will be able to book the trip for you, it just depends where you go on the trip ?
or have a look at www.vegas.com and they have all the trips on there, you'll be able to get times of how long you will be out,
