Depends on how big it is. If it's an elephant in the room that's a presence I would notice. Generally though I notice the absence of something.

I'll always notice the presence of something whether it be a person, something in a room, a new hairdo...I tend not to think about what isn't there....I enjoy what is there!
I don't want to spend my life looking for things that are not there, but rather appreciate the presence of everything there is to see.
