i need to get my cleaning rag out of my soprano sax.
someone told me to use cooking oil to soak up the rag...but i dont know if that will help... or will it damage my sax. i tryed soaking it in water, it helped a little, but barely. PLEEAAASSEE HELP!!! p.s. the hole is about as big as a pen is around...yes i tryed using a pen to get it out, doesn't work

Take a wire hanger and make it in to a hook then try pulling it out - it may take time but try pulling up instead of pushing out. The other option would be a knitting needle - long and strong. Good Luck!

The best thing to do, is take it to a music store. Trying to get it out yourself can only damage you sax. Believe me, I got one stuck in a piccolo once and ended up breaking a key off. Fixing the key was alot more expensive than taking it to the music store in the first place.
