As some might know, I posted a question re: reaching my answers limit for the day.
A suggestion was that I go looking at and vote on undecided questions. That got me thinking...
Why don't people thumbs up/down more often? I think a lot of posters go back and check to see how well their posts were received. Thumbs up/down are a great way for us to get a reality check on our opinions. So, why don't more of us use it?

For those that don't know how, you mouse over the little hands at the bottom of the answer you liked/disliked. You click the thumbs up hand or the thumbs down hand to let your opinion be known.

I generally give a thumbs up if the answer is really good, or a thumbs down if it's just horrible. Average answers I skip over.
I agree with you, I wish more people would use it. But I REALLY wish more people would go back and choose a best answer for the question they asked. I am always curious to see which answer the Asker thought was best.

I do quite a lot of of the thumbs up/thumbs down thingy, but I cannot always be bothered with reading everybody's answer.
The aim is to increase my score as fast as possible. That cannot be done by reading everyone's response. Sometimes I read other persons' answers, just to see if I said something completely different from everyone else. If the answers are a bit long, that can also be a turn-off.
As for voting on best answers, I stay away from it because I have to read all answers and evaluate them before voting. After all that, I only get 1 point! It's not worth it!

1. Some Yahoo addicts are too busy trying to get to the next question.
2. For the truly selfish, they are afraid if they click the "thumbs-up" option on a question they answered, that will decrease their chances of getting the 10 points for best answer.

I use a lot of my votes on tied questions. It helps with keeping so many of them down. Some don't vote for themselves, but I do vote for myself. Some would say that is wrong, but I personally see nothing wrong with it since it has went into voting. Now, I don't think voting for someone to see them win is right in no way. I agree with you a hundred percent about trying to get to the next answer. Some on here are more concerned about how many questions they answer.
