They are SO RELIABLE!!!! American Cars that is..... I had a 95 camry brand new 2 years into owning it ignition problems and after 5 years ignition problems etc. They are crap!!! I love my JEEP way better!!!!! Only had to buy tires and do oil changes it has 158000 miles and runs like it came right off the lot! As far as I am concerned FORD isnt American they are a disgrace to american society w/ the exception of the mustang. Ford AKA Fix Or Repair Daily or Flipped Over Russian Dunebuggy!!

Nope. From the 1960's to the 1990's, most American cars were poor quality unreliable cars. Some were reliable like the Buick Regal and original Dodge Caravan. From 2000-2006, American cars got a little better, but most models were still below average. The American pick up trucks were known as reliable cars. From 2007 and on, they improved greatly and now some Ford and GM cars surpass Japanese cars like Mitsubishi and Nissan in reliability.

I've only owned American cars and have had great success with them. Cars are built better now than they used to be, and with a little help from friends, neighbors, family members, and of course, Consumer Reports, you can easily pick out an American or a Foreign car that suits you. It's more of a personal opinion, than anything. If you owned a Dodge and had great luck with it, you'd be encouraged to buy another one. Of course, if you owned one and had awful luck with it, the opposite would be true, and you'd stay as far away as you could. lol It's all about what people have owned and how their cars treated them. I think if you're generally good to your car, taking care of the oil changes, not horsing around a lot, etc etc, you'll probably have good luck with it no matter what the make and model.

Many people try to say that American cars have improved, but they haven't. My mom has issues with her 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, and so does my aunt with her 2004 Mercury Sable and my uncle with his 1998 Ford F-150.
The best car anyone in my family has owned (almost all cars people in my family have owned have been American cars) is my dad's current car, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata.

it depends on the car most american car companies are all about the profit so they sacrifice customer service and quality to max out their income. They do make some good cars its like one out of ten because thats how many get inspected foregin compaines pay employees less and sell their cars for more so they have high profits anyway so they make quality products to sell more and get repeated costumers coming back later down the road but sometimes you get a foreign car thats a lemon too but thats what warranties are for. Most questions about brokendown import cars are because of something the owner of the car screwed up on not always just most of the times because typically younger people buy imported cars because they are sportier you get more features for the money and they all have long warranties and low interest rates and good student discounts.

I totally agree with you. Check out these sources about Ford.

nothing really on GM, but they still make good quality vehicles.
f-series: best selling pick-ups for over 30 years straight
fusion: beat the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in style, handling, and quality
explorer: USED to be the best selling SUV in America until that jap crap CR-V came in
Escape: best selling small SUV in America since 2001
mustang: most popular and sold car in the world
the 2000-2007 taurus: the most sold sedan in America with more than 2 million sold
the 2008 taurus: recieves 5 stars in 4 categories in safety.
Now people are just too stupid to figure this out. The main reason why Ford, along with every other American cars manufacturer, is going bankrupt is because in America we pay for our employees healthcare, and with about a million employees, think of the money it takes for that.

Ive driven American cars on the road (business) and they ALL FAILED prematurely.
Since 1975 I've driven Toyotas with NO major repairs, just regular maintenence
Do you know what FORD means: " Found On Road Daily"
Although Ford just passed Toyota on JD Roberts new car survey.

I have had great luck with Chevrolets. My worst car was a Subaru. My worst SUV was an exploder--oh I mean an explorer, but it only mainly explored every repair dealer it could get to--usually towed.
