I would worry if he wasn't active enough...like behind the other children in reaching certain milestones. However, if he is really active I would not worry about that. I don't think there is anything that you can do. Are you sure that is why? Maybe he is so attached to you that he cries alot when you are not there? In any case I would call the sitter who quit and ask her so that you can better analyze the situation and come up with a solution for the next sitter and you. Good Luck.

I don't think your baby is overly active. I think babies are just maturing so early. We hear stories about babies walking at an early age and they can even learn sign language now. Is he very fussy? What is the specific behavior they are referring to?
It is crazy that a babysitter would quit because your baby doesn't sleep all day. I think it comes with the territory, bt at least you knew ahead of time rather than paying someone who potentially could mistreat your child. My suggestion is to get really good referrals for a licensed childcare. My son started daycare as an infant and had specific lesson plans for his cognitive growth. It was important to me, because I knew my son wasn't the type to just sit in a crib all day.

Your son is only 8 months old, and he's 'worn out' two baby-sitters? Either you live in a 'very weird area' or your baby may have 'signs' of ADD or ADHD or 'hyperactivity' ... so take him to his pediatrician and have him 'thoroughly checked out' ... and think about 'raising' what you are offering to your babysitters ... you may not be 'paying enough' for that 'very active' baby who is probably just a 'normal, active' little boy!

Well these sitters sound hopeless, all babies end up being active- why can't they cope? I don't really know if you mean crawling, walking and all that and chucking his food or whatever, just sounds to me these sitters havn't got the patience like us mummys. Mine is crawling fast and is into everything and is walking along furniture and I love it! She is almost 9 months. be proud of your bubby! he sounds like he's doing well and must be cheaky, hope you find the right sitter or carer soon who can be bothered.

8 months is way too young to decide about being overactive.
I notcie in my daughter when she was 3 1/2 that she is overactive. I have 3 children- never noticed it in the first 2 not until her.

No, your baby is completely normal. Don't label your baby so early. Realize he is perfectly normal and healthy. :)
