Which party do lobbiests and special interest groups tend to support? And why?

In all honesty, they throw their support to who ever is in power. For instance, energy companies often support both Republican and Democratic candidates (take Enron at its peak). This is assuming that the candidate is willing to advocate for the the group and it must have something in common with the party's ideals.

Special interest groups don't support parties. They buy congressmen and senators of both parties. It costs a lot to run for congress or the senate, and special interest groups contribute to those they think they can control. Once they are elected, then the special interests continue to bribe the senator or congressman to vote their way. All senators and congressmen take bribes from special interests. Let me say that again. ALL SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN TAKE BRIBES FROM SPECIAL INTERESTS. Those that don't, or try to report it, are soon gone, either not reelected or they are gone in other ways.

You propose like Haliburton, Blackwater, the oil and coal marketplace? no longer as lots simply by fact the GOP! BTW--if the GOP is so super on securing or borders, why did no longer they make any attempt to realize this for the finished 12 years they controlled Congress? Hmmmmmmm? And as to potential expenditures--how come gasoline expenditures fell for the time of the Clinton admistration yet have better than doubled for the time of the Bush administration--hurting ALL human beings (and immigrants)? LOL

BOTH.

Because one or the other will get elected, and the winner will be beholden to you.

Money generally flows to the candidate that donors think will be most likely to be elected. That money, of course, helps them /get/ elected, so it's something of a self-fullfilling prophesy.

For instance, Hillary and Obama are raising money like crazy.

Both parties equally. Money flows to those who have the POWER.

Lobbyists play both sides.

Depending on the issue, they'll pander to whomever they think will get them the votes they need.
