My dad bought a dodge viper that had just passed an inspection by dodge, he crashed 3 days later at 30mph ;the car just lost control because of the poor weight positiong of the engin ( a design failure). He didn't suffer any great damage besides a totaled car and a month's worth of headaches. Is it possible for him to start a class action suing of DaimlerChrysler for product deficiency since this is one of the many times it has happened to viper owners?
If so, are there any lawyers interested in helping him do so?
Thank you

So in reality you were hot rodding in daddys viper, come on tell us the truth. I doubt that he lost control just driving at 30mph. Now if he mashed the gas at 30 and whipped out the tail end, then yeah, some one needs to learn how to drive and respect all that power under the hood.

I feel bad for what happened to your father but the Viper has been in production for quite a long time now and any design flaw that causes disaster at 30mph would long since have come to light.

It's a very powerful automobile and it requires alot of attention, more so than many other exotics. I saw someone spin a Viper just making a right turn because they simply depressed the throttle too much.

You will have to research if a significant number of other owners have this problem. Without that, there is no "class" for the class action.

Chrysler's having a lot of technical problems. Your not alone, join the fanbase. As far as suing goes, its a bit tricky. You see big corporations always get away because they think they have power and money. What you should do is first contact the dealer you purchased it from, and state your problem. The dealer can assist you to the regional dealer if he cannot solve the issue. This happend to my dad's truck and they gave him plenty of problems. Be careful, many times the dealer/service department may delete all your documents showing that you didn't even conduct a service or purchase from that dealer. Whatever you do, keep evidence and documents for support. Worst case scenario, contact some cheap lawyer in the area to sue the dealer, because if you state Chrysler, the lawyer may just jip you off your money or not even consider filing the lawsuit.

Tell your Dad to buy something more his speed next time, say a Dodge Neon?

I loath the death of personal responsibility.

File a damage suit against Chrysler but be able to prove that their product is defective. The court that has jurisdiction is the place of the sale or the court that is specified in the contract of sale.
