Because they have far different longitude and latitude...besides, they belong to two very different contnents (Europe and America)----
Same reason why other countries are so far apart geographycally speaking....(like China and Spain for instance)

Norway and Hawaii lie on different plates and have entirely different origins. Norway is part of Europe; Hawaii is on the pacific plate which is a completely separate feature that lies across the world.

The North American Continent and the Atlantic Ocean as well as most of Europe just got in between them. They really can't be neighbors.
