Hmm...Good question. I LOVE this restaurant called Eiesnhower Restaurant. Its a little tiny seafood and grill restaurant under the Holiday Inn at Eisenhower Station in Alexandria, VA. Right next to DC.

Dutch Mothers. Cozy plush leather booths behind high polished hardwood privacy screens, lots of white lace,
classical played live usually with piano and strings, old world menu selections, dairymen entering with large family's, the silver cake/pie carts that roll up with selections under glass;
followed by trooping down to a basement dancefloor where
free pairs of wooden clogs stand ready to clatter happily as
music swings couples around in big circles. Composers
named 'Bach' would all feel at home here.

As far as the west coast goes - California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) is a top notch run-of-the-mill type place. Not too over priced, very unique and fun pizza/salad combinations, and a good drink list. It also tends to be located in the more "trendy" areas of its host cities, so it is a good nightlife type spot to wine and dine!

Where I live in the east, my favorite restaurant is Friendly's. I love their food, especially their desserts. When I went on a vacation to Tennessee, my favorite restaurant there was Cracker Barrel, since there were no Friendly's down there.
