I hung around the wrong people and received a DWI. I spent 13 days in jail along with coke dealers, abusers, multi DWI's and a prostitute. I served my time and got out 5 days early for being a good girl.
Did I learn my lesson? you bet!!! I won't even drive if I have a drop!!!
It was scary and didn't know what to expect. It was a BIG eye opener and I hope the younger groups that read this will learn. I kinda chuckle to myself on that because I told two 19 year olds who were talking big...if you can catch a cold you can get busted for a DWI...They both were busted and are whining it wasn't fair.
Well there are rules and laws and if you don't play by them you will find out the answer and don't whine to me.
I am middle class.
I see Paris and her buddy Nicole (who will be in the slammer soon) taking this as a joke. Yeah it is a joke...I don't think they will learn anything. They bat their eyes and really don't give a darn.
I think Paris's Mom and Dad should cut her off of the family funds till she does realize what life is about...not all parties hun.
I figure she will mess up this ankle bracelet with in ten days...then we shall see what the law will do.
Princess Hilton and Richy will make more money out of it.

I am in no way, shape or form a Paris fan, cant stand the girl...
Sure... Some rich people go to jail, BUT plenty of them get away with stuff that would send any "regular" person to jail.
I didnt see near as many people complaining when Halle Berry got community service (what a slap on the wrist!) for driving trashed, hitting a car and driving away.
If they want to make an example of one celebrity, they should do the same with all the others that break the law.

I heard a good point on some news clip. What about those guys who get sent to jail who are going to end up as some big dude's "girlfriend" -- Don't you think that is a more cruel sentence? Paris got a cell all to herself, not really a harsh deal. I would be more sympathetic if they released these little guys who are going to get violated daily in the worst possible way.
Paris could use a dose of reality. Maybe then she'd think about using her money to help people instead of buying clothes that cost more than my car.

I suspect that Paris had a video of herself and a Sheriff's Deputy sent to the jail - once the video was played in the jail's break room, Paris had to go home immediately.
What use is a judge's order when the Sheriff's can reassign Paris to home detention. Time for a celebrities only court.

The idea that America still has any principle(s) of equality before the law would certainly now be considered an unusual view! Government lying: perfectly acceptable, The rich doing whatever they like and laughing at the poor who live w. little real freedom to speak of, now that's a cruel system. Keep it up and that will solve any immigration 'problem.'

um yeah? just cause she is rich and used to living in a posh place does not mean that jail is cruel and unusual. i mean come on, rich people that do stupid stuff go to jail all the time just cuz she's a celebrity is the only reason she got out.
she a little girl who cried her way out of jail. but to some what answer your question, they should have just givin her house arrest to begin with.

Who posted this, Paris' mother? If your average Jane went out and did what Paris did, she'd have to do her time, sick or not. I'm sorry that Paris is spoiled rotten. I'm sorry she's used to sleeping on marshmallows and can't handle a prison cot. Maybe if you watched a few of her "Simple Life" shows, you'd see what a hateful, spoiled brat she is and you'd feel a little less sympathy for this special treatment. Might as well call her OJ Simpson. She can do whatever she wants.

I'm used to living in a rich suburb, gated subdivision actually, and have had it VERY easy my whole life and even with a very expensive lawyer I still had to sit. I think I should have had a few panic attacks instead of playing dominoes for the 62 days I had.
I don't care how rich, famous, or easy someone has had a life. They're human, if our jail's are good enough for drug dealers, addicts, DUI offenders, and everyone else who is lower-middle class, I don't see why she needs to be treated any differently.
But that's celebrity justice ...

Jail isn't supposed to be a nice place. She committed a crime that people are confined to jail for on a regular basis. What is cruel and unusual about it? What will happen when she keeps drinking and driving and ends up killing someone? Should she be confined to a suite at a plush hotel with room service?

What harshness?!? She got off easy to begin with, THEN they bent over backwards to accomodate her while in jail, THEN the let her out after 3 days and sent her to her room.
There was nothing cruel about her sentence then, and there's nothing fair about her sentence now.
