I agree with the other people who have answered you. It does hurt to be criticised but look at it as a way of improving on yourself rather than as something you just have to live with. Don't take it as a personal insult. We are all living, learning and growing. This is just another way to do that. Try not to dwell on it so long. This can only be damaging to your spirit. Learn to love yourself. I know how you feel, I am very much the same but I have had a change of attitude and it's helping me to grow. Seek support if you need it from someone who loves you. Good luck.

Not silly. It's part of our defense mechanism.
It's not easy to get over this, but if you can try and see the other person's point of view, that will help. Why are they criticizing you? Are they justified? Maybe they're not.
Think about that. If you need to, while you're being criticized, take a mental or physical time-out and consider if what they're saying is justified.
If you can think of criticism as a form of growth and try not to take it personally (which is the hardest part), maybe at some point you'll welcome it.
I hope it's not all critical and that they're trying to give you feedback. If it is critical and you don't think they're justified, I'd tell them.
You can also ask questions like, "can you tell me why you feel like that?", "can you give me other examples of when I did this?"
You may get better information that way.

I think a lot of people do not like getting criticism. But the easiet was is to think that you can always get better. This was the criticism is like a stepping stone!

I can handle criticism as long as I'm not being yelled at. If somebody tells me something gently and kindly, I'll apologize and get over it. But nobody likes being hollered at.

Not silly, but admit to your self that you aren't perfect, and information is all good, so disconnect from the impact on you and attached to the value of the comment. It really is "all good".

No, I have the same problem. Even if I'm corrected at my job. I guess we just want to feel we're always doing things right.
