The average daily sleep for 9-month olds is 14 hours per day, however, there is a huge range that makes up this average: 10.5 to 17.4 hours a day. According to recent studies, 95% of 9-month old babies fall into this range. Your baby is definitely within the normal range. As long as he is happy and active during the day, he is getting enough sleep.

At that age, my son slept 12 hours at night and usually took an hour long nap in the morning and a two hour nap in the afternoon. The 10 hours at night is probably okay but he definitely needs longer naps. I would try putting him down earlier in the morning and earlier in the afternoon. Sometimes babies are overtired and then they have trouble sleeping. I highly recommend the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child"

There seems to be some good solutions right here so a techniques. i'm a newbee mom - I actual have a 12 weeks old and he or she is ingesting approximately 32 oz. of formulation in a 24 hour era - 6 oz. at consume feeding. So i could verify which contain your pediatrician to be certain is he's ingesting too little. as a techniques via fact the snoozing, i think of if he starts to consume a splash extra much less in many circumstances (and in keeping with probability you initiate off rice cereal), he could be waiting to sleep longer in the process the evening. be certain you have a evening time ordinary - mine is approximately an hour and includes heat bath, feeding then reading. My daughter then sleeps everywhere from 7 to 9 hours in the process the evening and a entire of roughly 15 hours in a 24 hour era. good theory to maintain a mag. I song all of my daughter's feedings and snoozing additionally and discover it useful. I actual have additionally bought a TON of books on snoozing in the process the evening, schedule, sleep varieties, etc. i think of what I actual have discovered is which you would be able to discover out what works right for you and your infant. And, all of us could sleep precise? :) good luck!

The wonderful thing about babies is they come pretty much already programed, they're hardwired to survive, and being blissfully ignorant of the rules of polite society, they will do whatever, wherever, whenever they need to to survive, a baby couldn't care less about schedules or the time of day, if they're hungry, they eat, 8am or midnite, and when they're tired, they'll curl up on the softest thing they can find and sleep, dont worry he knows how much he needs. your doing fine.

If he is active and playful, and in good spirits when he is awake, I would not worry about it. Babies will get the sleep they need.
