A new coach, and he's average at best, a headcase team breaker like T.O., average RB's and an unproven QB. I say they battle the Skins for the cellar.

Not just a new coach, but a coach that is the kiss of death to playoff caliber teams. Wade Phillips is a proven disaster at the head coach position and goes out of his way to make sure his teams either fail to make the playoffs or thoroughly embarass themselves when they get there. So, yeah, I agree with you that the Cowboys won't be that good this year. I do think they'll be better than the skins, though - probably 8-8 give or take a game.

Awww. I'm sorry, Mr. Giants fan. How's that Eli Manning deal worked out for yall? Good luck without Tiki next year. And...don't be so quick to talk smack about the Cowboys. Let's compare Cowboys to Giants.

Defense- Cowboys. Do I really need to say why?

RBs- Barber III and Jones combined for a ton of yards and TDs last year. Marion Barber III had 16 touchdowns alone, which I want to say was 2nd in the league. He's just as good as your Brandon Jacobs, only Jacobs isn't as proven. Not to mention Julius Jones should have a productive year while we don't know if Jacobs can carry the load or not.

QB- Toss up. Romo has the heart and Eli his the talent. I want Eli to do well, but I'm not sure he will. As far as calling Romo unproven...just what exactly has Eli proven other than he's Peyton's little brother? That's about all he's achieved.

Line- Cowboys. LD makes this running game unstoppable. There are so many holes on that NY line. Shaun O'Hara is a great player, though.

WR- Cowboys...but barely. Owens and Glenn are better versions of Toomer and Burress. Eli would have had a great season if Toomer hadn't gotten hurt. And right now, Crayton is better than both Moss and Smith. And don't be so fast to point out Owens' craziness. Burress isn't exactly the silent type, although he's nothing like Owens.

TE- Toss up. Jeremy Shockey is annoying. But he's a good player who sometimes drops balls. Meanwhile, the best TE nobody knows about is JASON WITTEN.

aaaand Coach- Wade Phillips. He might not have a great track record, but before Belecheck went to NE, neither did he. People called for Coughlin to be fired last year. They'll get their wish after this season. Everyone hates Tom. Come on now.

Enjoy fighing those dirty pigs this season...all the way at the bottom of the NFC East. Maybe next year, Big Blue. But probably not.

And as for the guy who said Phillips couldn't do anything with Elway in Denver...Elway didn't do anything until the arrival of TD. He never even played well in a Super Bowl until his last one against Atlanta. I love Elway. Growing up, he was my favorite. But don't blame Wade Phillips for his early ineptitude.

The NFC East as a whole had some of the weakest offseasons in all of football. Gonna be tough to call before we see what they do. I've thought all along that Romo was overhyped and not very good. T.O. tends to be even more of a distraction after that 1st season so we'll see how that works. If Jason Campbell suddenly plays well the Skins can be better, I doubt we'll see that though. The Eagles should be the strongest because of McNabb and other vets that can lead that team. Also, they're usually good defensively. However, they have their share of questions as well. Veteran leadership also means they're getting older. After McNabb and Westbrook they don't have many weapons. My team, the Giants, had an AWFUL offseason. We kept coughlin, watched tiki retire, didn't draft any needs and released other players. The only key addition was signing Reuben Droughns @ RB(big deal). Eli hasn't shown any signs of being worth that huge contract, if he doesn't step up this year, the city & team will turn on him even more. If the Cowboys started playing well, they could easily win in this up for grabs division. Should be interesting to see which team decides to step up this year.

So would a 8-8 record be a good year? For some teams that's a miracle year. Dallas sees making the playoffs as a good year. It's a standard that football fan's love to hate. So many Dallas haters have their entire season ruined when the boy's make the playoffs. I guess being there more then any other NFL team tends to get the attention of other team fans. Dallas has the potential and talent to get to the playoffs this year. The new coach may be their push to the top or their quick fall down the ladder in their conference. No doubt about it though, Jerry Jones wants a winning team and will do whatever it takes to get there.

I do. I don't think they realize yet, how big of a role Parcells played in keeping the team together and, coaxing the lazier players on the team to perform. of all the Coaches they could have hired.
pay DETHLOK, no mind. He obviously didn't watch the draft or, was totally unaware of what the needs were. they covered the secondary, linebackers and, for the most part, offensive line. additionally, if He can stay out of trouble, the running back from MARSHALL, could be one of the big steals of the draft.

Well I like the potential Romo has, he just needs to get his confidence back and start getting better because teams have him on film now to adjust for him. TO and Glenn make a good tandum, throw in Witten and you have a good receiving group. Julius Jones is a mediocre back, but he can get the yards they need to give Marion Barber room for a 1st down...BUT...Their secondary is a little pathetic....The Saints just went by them like they weren't even there...but I laughed, so thanks for that Big D....I think they have what it takes to make the playoffs on a wild card....at best....I think 10 wins is possible for this team if their secondary can hold up every now and then...but we'll see...because you're right..Romo has potential, and he made the pro bowl..but he still is unproven right now, especially with shot confidence and teams figuring him out.

Everyone knows they are no good besides the Cowboy fans. I do not think Romo can lead this team for a whole season. T.O. will be T.O. The defense wont be that good either.

They will make to the wildcard. But they deffinatly do not have the ability with a young QB like Romo to move past that point. At least not with the amount of talent the other teams have out there.

This year will be a lot like the 2004 season. Eagles finish first, while it's pretty even with all teams. The Skins and Giants will slip this year.

The cowboys will be lucky if t.o. doesn't implode the team and drive them to a 5-11 season
