STROKE-Do you want to save a life?

Question

a neurologist says that if we identify a "stroke" and get a victim to hospital-within 3hours-the stroke effects can be totally reversed.Recognize a stroke-in 3 steps-with first 3letters - S- Smile-ask person to smile-T-,Talk-ask person to talk-1 small easy line-(coherently)-R- raise-ask person to raise their arms-if they cannot-they have had a stroke-ring emergency services-and tell them that info.Also-ask person to "stick" their tounge out-if it is crooked-or goes to one side?-that is a 4th sign. .
Some people-dont die-but end up in a helpless,hopeless condition,if you could help-JUST ONE VICTIM- PLEASE-remember this-it may well be a member of your own family you save-pass it on to everyone you can- together-we can save lives. THANKYOU.

I do these tests to my mother in law all the time(when she's not feeling well) I've never heard of the tongue test but I know of another way to tell. Hold up any amount of fingers in front of them and see if they can count. Strokes sometimes affect one side of a persons vision, and if they can't see with both eyes, then they wont be able to count all of your fingers. Thanks for warning everyone. I know, strokes can be horrible!! My dad passed away after having a really bad one, and he was in the hospital when he had it.!! Thanks again!

Let me add something to your list. You can check it out on several websites or ask your doctor. More is being learned about the benefits of aspirin. Aspirin can ward away heart attacks and stroke. One must be careful, because aspirin can thin the blood and sometimes causes stomach problems. But small doses are good, and it is recommended that anyone feeling dizzy or with pain in the arm or shoulder immediately take aspirin.

Being elderly myself, I also want to warn women of my age to be careful of beauty salon shampoos. When that head is tilted backward at a sharp angle, it is easy to feel faint, and it is said that this can lead to strokes in older women.
