i was making my kid some lunch when i saw the second plane crashing into the tower on 9-11. i thought it was a bruce willis movie. and then when i discovered it was really real, i picked up my kid and held him really close. he was playing on the floor, having a good old time. i remember not being suprised by columbine and the v-tech shootings. we young people these days are such cry babies. but i was sure as heck ticked off when that creep son of a bi*th went and messed with those amish folks. that just wasnt right. they live a nice life and again some crybaby having a rough time of it in his own life has to take it out on some unsuspecting folks. and they always kill themselves later on. whats up with that? loser a$$holes. and of course we cant remember the war in iraq cause the troops are still dying over there. i cant wait for that to be a memory. the princess dying was truly tragic. she was such a sweet celebrity figure. i guess i am still to young to remember events vividly beyond those at this time. wait i remember the day i was on a bicycle trip from one city to the next and all of a sudden the higway was crowded and i had to travel on back roads to avoid danger. i gave a woman and her family some directions to the interstate because all the people were katrina victims. man that was bad too.

The most vivid memory is 9/11.

I'm too young for Challenger disaster.

Unbelievably, no one's mentioned the Christmas Day 2004 tsunami that killed around 300,000 people in about 10 different countries, more deaths than all those other tragedies put together. Just go to show Americans only remember tragedies that affect themselves. I also remember the Rwanda genocide in the early 90's that killed 800,000 in 4 months.

9/11. I was in third grade. That day is etched in my memory.
And the Virginia Tech shootings. I was packing for a trip to Washington DC (And Virginia) the day it happened. All I remember hearing on the TVs at the airport the next morning was Virginia Tech.

I remember being in the 8th grade and a teacher coming into our class crying and telling us president John F.Kennedy was shot,a few years latter Bobby Kennedy (John Kennedy's brother) had been killed (he was running for president) Also Martin Luther King was shot and killed. A Lot of turmoil during the 60's in this country, but you know what , we always bounce back as a nation.
