Yeah the chicken wire is the best solution. Give them enough scrap to eat and that should keep them localized. But they'll never obey, all they understand is peep peep peep! Although a big cock(that's a rooster, for those who've never been on a farm) can control them pretty easily. Just don't put two cocks in the pen or all hell might break loose. Not only that, but you really just need one to get the hens laying.

Chickens lack the necessary frontal lobe capacity to comprehend and follow through with your instructions. A better strategy would be to attempt to contain your poultry within one area, so that they would not have access to your garden. Try switching to another brand of meal.

I don't know.
My chicks are in a big (5'x5') watermelon box in the front room and they seem to obey pretty well.
Maybe you need to change Scratch brands, or try some millet mixed in.

What type of chick? Has the chick imprinted on something other than you ... if so, your doomed ... they only follow the one they imprint on. If it's a turkey - chick ... well, just insert into the freezer asap.
