or if not sound the same sounds very much so unoriginal. it seems like for the last 5 years or more the rap and hiphop scene in the mainstream is just out their to make money. nothing is that great, its been awhile since i've heard a song on the radio or tv that made me stop and say "that **** was dope". its all just so so with a dance club beat. but im into music thats got some meat on its bone ya know, something that i can listen to over and over again and still be like dawm those lyrics and that beat are fresh. not for a long time has that happend in the mainstream scene.

Hip Hop is not dead. You just need to know where to find it.

Most radio stations suck, unless you're from a major hip hop center like Cali, New York, Texas, ATL, New Orleans, Detroit, etc...

They still show plenty of good music, but lots of crap because this is what people want. If more and more people started complaining, they'd get the picture.

Yes, a lot are just in for the money. But you've also got to realize that many of these dance songs are just the Singles to promote the album. It has to be catchy so i get tons of airplay, and to get the word out there. The rest of the album usually is a lot different from the single, depending on the artist of course.

New example would be Buck the World. Get Buck is the single, but if you listen to the album, its actually great. Slow ya roll, and buck the world are sick.

I reccomend going here:
www.hiphopgame.com All the latest songs, even if they're not singles. You can listen to everything that comes out, instead of just what BET, or radio chooses for you.

www.defsounds.com

www.datpiff.com Best selection of mixtapes to listen to.

Some good artists that have dropped or will drop cd's this year

Dr Dre - Detox
Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
Talib Kweli - Ear Drum
Kanye West - Graduation
Young Buck - Buck The World
Papoose - The nacirema dream
Saigon - The greatest story never told
Bone Thugs n Harmony - Strenght & Loyalty
Lots more...

in my opinion, i see hip hop because of the fact the way of existence and rap as its music. like all different way of existence, hip hop has its own language, costume, kind, music, and so on. rap is in basic terms the music of that way of existence. yet like a number of you reported in the past, it is been taken to point 2 distinctive "genres" of the comparable music. as an occasion, hip hop meaning subject-loose and kweli and rap meaning lil wayne or whoever makes use of a vocoder and considers it music. i think of that's what nas replaced into relating while he reported "hip hop is lifeless". to me, the way of existence is particularly plenty alive...it is the music it is no longer all there (yet it extremely is yet another dialogue). i think like there could be a average confusion on conscious rap as against mainstream, commercial rap...maximum efficient absolutely everyone to think of that hip hop and rap are 2 separate musics. yet in any case, have faith what you may desire to. it extremely is in basic terms my handle it.

Because they all go after the hit producer of the moment Timbaland, Scott Storch, Swizz Beatz or Lil Jon. So most of them sound like YEAH!!!

Because people just don't want to take the time to be original... All the beats are recycled from other influences.
That's just the way it works. =P

I would love to know. Between Pay for play (legal payola) and recording artist wanting to sell it's becoming ridiculous.

welcome to the world of commercial broadcasting. Somewhere along the line they decided we're all idiots, and they won't show us anything new or interesting. Commercial radio and TV are going to die out.
