Clip as much as possible with scissors, first. Then use shavng cream & a razor.

just clip the pubic hair short to minimize pulling whenever you get an erection underneath a tight trunks or bikini but do not shave it, why do you want it smooth? Only gays do that

If you're an adult, it's not supposed to be smooth. You've gone through puberty. Get over it -- ASAP. You'll never be ten years old again, but being an adult is really pretty okay, so stop fighting it.

wash, use shaving cream, use a fresh razor, shave with the hair growth, wash again, relather with shave cream, shave against the hair growth, wash again, pat dry, use lotion and bikini zone if you are prone to shave bumps.
