I just bought a "Comstar" brand external hard drive, and I've heard people say that it comes with a Seagate HD. However in Device Manager it's named "WDC WD50 xxxxxx USB Device" which leads me to believe it's a Western Digital HD. How do I find out for sure? Thanks.

Open up the Comstar case and look at the label on the hard drive.

Sounds like you are right in that it might be a Western Digital.

try the belarc advisor. Or open your case and look at the hard drive. I would believe the device manager.
