The tenant still resides at my property, has not paid rent in a year, has no security deposit remaining, and I do not want him to obtain a new residence without the prospective landlord being aware.

It's been a year since they paid you a dime and you're just now taking action?

You either have a heart of gold, or you're not the smartest tool in the shed. Most places would evict after missing one rent payment, take the deposit and take you to court.

Get a lawyer and file for an eviction and judgement for past due rent / damages. Make sure you include that they pay your lawyer fees.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot.

You can't seriously want to interfere with him moving out, which making him unable to find a new home would certainly do.

Just evict him, and worry about credit reports later.

Sue for eviction. The judgment will appear on the credit rating. If this is a legal leasing situation what is taking you so long?
