im considering buying a 1992 pontiac firebird BUT it has 200,000 miles on it.. so my question is do you think i will need to get a new engine or will it still run fine?? thanks

Yea, this is a tough question to answer, not knowin how well the maintenance was kept up on it or even what size engine it has in it. Personally, I'd think a V8 could hold up to that kind of mileage alot better than a V6. Here's some info to take w/ you while your doing the test drive.



Notice down @ the bottom this page. It tells you the eight digit in the VIN will tell you which engine it come w/ from the factory.

See how it runs for you on your test drive. Give some nut and see. There are no guarantees for anything, even new cars. Get a feel and go from there. Good luck.

i bought a 1995 t/a and im starting to have drivetrain problems...it has 110,000 miles on it...if i were you i wouldn't even touch that car...unless you really want it and are expecting to pay alot of money for new parts
