They made a movie called "Dragon Ball: the Magic Begins" that loosely follows the plot of the first season of regular Dragonball, adding a lot of extra stuff that has nothing to do with Dragonball. I have a copy of it in Japanese without subtitles and it's incredibly low budget.
There was talk of a new Dragon Ball Z movie being produced, possibly filming a movie and it's sequel back-to-back with the same actors, in the United States, but I havent heard anything about it in over a year.

I heard about stuff like that for 5 years now and they went through with it. Perhaps, there may be one but I dont think it can top the animation version. It wont seem like the original DBZ anymore!

I think the project was canceled.
