If you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but if you don't you can check out actorsaccess.com. You have to pay to submit yourself for the audition, but it's free to look. You can also see if your state has a film alliance. Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. For theatre, you can go to backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying. Most theatres have their own website so you can look up the rest of the info that way.
Backstage has the widest variety of auditions. You can audition for students films, theatre, some film projects too. You just have to keep looking to see what comes up.
By the way, most agents won't take you without some acting background and a lot of talent so I would take some classes, get involved in theatre, work whenever you can.
Good luck!

Acting is Skill and a natural Talent you need both. To work on your acting skills in front of a camera look for local colleges and call your local film commission. Hook up with people that are looking for actor that will work for free it will give you exposure, help film makers and they will give you a copy for your film resume. Try it it is really fun and low pressure.

Probably best if you auditioned for student or low budget films you need to get a head shot and resume (even if you have little to no experience put what you do have and don't lie)
Look on craigslist or in local trade papers to find auditions and submit your headshot and resume.
Break a leg!!

list of all of the plays they were in (including role and character) names of acting teachers
Skills: tap dance, ballet, jazz, modern dance, Gymnastics,
foreign languages, dialects, etc.
