I think our culture has shifted to accommodate the independent woman. Although, you will find some straggles still offering an escort to the car, it does fade off after a couple of dates.
As far as not being allowed to go to "bad places", that is a more of a parent trait. As for most women including myself, we would laugh at the notion of not being "allowed" somewhere

Yes, without question. A man should be a man at all times, you are here for her common needs and she should be there for all of yours as well. It's your place to make sure she is safe at all times. And yes, if a woman belongs to me she will "not" be "allowed" to go to what I consider to be bad places. Some may say that is wrong for me not to "allow" her. But I say "BS"...if she is my girl, she "will not" be allowed to go. End of story.
