It's called SELF esteem. How can something someone else says affect you if you didn't already feel this was true? If you didn't believe it, you would dismiss the idea. No one can affect your SELF esteem but yourSELF.

sometimes we don't see whats wrong, you just said that "everyythings ok I guess"., which means your doubting or don't want to see that your boyfriend is probably part of the problem. Maybe when you guys argue he chooses his words wrongly and little by little he keeps putting you down. I don't know if he calls you names or never says sorry or doesn't say words to boost your confidence or says he loves you as often, I recommend you check for that and also another question is does he says things about oher girls like "oh she's fine" or stuff like that if front of you. Just somethings to make you think about..Good Luck!

As I got older my confidence grew. I did struggle for many years though, and I'm quite sure my low esteem had to do with my childhood. Believe in yourself and love your self completely. Then no one can ruffle your feathers.

When I was a child. It's unfortunate that simple words can affect people so negatively & stay with them for so long. To this day anytime I am around a certain person I still remember that thing they said to hurt me as a child.

Yes but im starting to learn that not everyone is going to like me or be happy with me all the time and that i only need to make myself happy. Youre not going to please everyone. Ive also learned to let what people say not affect me.
