I saw an answer on a question where a black female said statistically there are more whites on welfare than blacks. That is true but she didn't take into consideration that whites do have a large majority. According to the US Census as I remember, blacks made 13% of the US population while whites made up about 61%. So there is a large percent of whites in America therefor if even 10% of them receive Welfare, that means that the number will be high while if 10% of blacks receive welfare the number will be low when compared to whites. Another thing that the person didn't take into consideration when she answered was the employment status of the rest who are not on Welfare and how much they contribute to social services through taxes, obviously whites would contribute more while blacks wouldn't because of the population difference. What do you think?

Everything you have said would be correct if the statistics could be trusted. However, as I always say, statistics are unreliable for a number of reasons:
They can be fudged to reflect either positively or negatively upon any group of people.
There is a strong possibility of error, as no one is perfect.
There is much that goes unreported.
We have no way of knowing whether or not those responsible for determining statistics are biased.

Actually, if you read up on history, Welfare was designed for the white people when blacks had no rights. So, It was created for whites(no offense) when the husbands had to go off to war and their spouse needed support in their absence. The reason for the inaccurate census is it is a known fact that blacks really don't have access to reporting to census unless they apply for assistance, therefore, the only blacks that are counted are the poor blacks. This is not personal, but facts stated through research. This is the land of opportunity, but from the beginning only certain people were allowed to succeed. Everybody that pay taxes whether they be white, black, Asian, or Hispanic are contributing to the people that are in need. So look at as if you are investing in a good cause that you or someone you know may have to utilize one day and not the caliber of persons that are in a position to have to use these resources. it doesn't matter who is on welfare or who's not. Alot of whites need it but don't take it cause they are too proud. There are still more whites on welfare that's the FACT. she didn't say the ratio was larger she said the AMOUNT was. Most blacks take it because it is impossible for them to work. And the first person who posted a message needs to shut the F up.

Actually there are more whites on welfare than blacks because there is a larger white population, but that doesn't make them any less than any other "race".

It looks like you are telling more than asking. Yes, you have a point, but what does it mean to you on the grand scales of things? Are you trying to find the root of this problem and come up reasonable solution to solve it or are you trying to blame certain races on social problems?

Us blacks have more people on Welfare than our total number of ppl but more whites than blacks are on welfare but they are majority but thats no reason to judge all of us like this
