So my boyfriend works nights, and our roommate works days. Day to day there aren't many dishes in the sink. So i figure oh I'll do them tomorrow. Then I just keep putting them off because there aren't many. Then there are tons and I hate to do them. Anyone have good suggestions to do them more often. I know it's somewhat self motivation, but I hate dishes with a passion..so i'm definitely lacking when it comes to them.

Watch "How Clean Is Your House?" on BBC/cable tv.
Make sure you see the part where the younger host tells the occupant what kinds of bacteria they found and in what quantity, what kinds of bugs are living there, etc.
They always test the kitchen sink, dish drainer, etc, for this nasty stuff, and it's amazing, and sickening, to learn what is really going on in your kitchen that you can't see.
That should motivate you to improve upon how you do things.

If you really, really hate doing the dishes you could invest in a portable dishwasher for acouple hundred dollars and it can go with you when you move..Or invest in an undersink model for a bit more... Or rotate dish duty with your roomies so your not stuck with it yourself...

i know how u feel.... i suggest listening to your ipod/mp3 while washing the dishies so u can move your body a bit and have fun while washing dishies, but be careful, dont go over the board and suddenly drop a plate on the ground or something! basically, have fun and look forward to washing dishies by plugging in your headphones and listening to your favorite music and add a little dance to it

Remember that flies like to sit on dog poo as well as your crockery! Visualise them flying straight from a steaming turd to your lovely dinnerware!

Then think about chipping in for a dish washer

Maybe fill your sink with soapy water each time you start cooking/eating and just whizz the dirty stuff in as you go. Things will be easier to clean then and its almost done!

If you keep up on them, then they will be done. I do them as I see them and load up the dishwasher until it if full. I hate staring at a sink full of dirty dishes.

have a dish washer?

Plop them in there and turn on the wash. Then your roomates have to unload or vice verse.

Or, you can all be responsible for your own dishes...kinda weird, but you just do your own, not so bad/
