When I had to say goodbye to my granddaughter who was being adopted, when my 16 year old daughter went missing and I did not know where she was or if she was OK & many times over my youngest daughter. and the s..t life has thrown at her . Physically it hurts so much like your heart is being ripping apart .
The heart like a precious vase can be repaired but when something is broken and repaired it is never the same again .

While watching "The Wall" on acid, I heard the boys heartbreak when he didn't see his father come out of the train after the troops were sent home from the war. I even rewound the movie three times and heard it still.
But, after watching it again, the heartbreak sound was just in my head.

Well, ofcourse. I will eventually overcome it, but I will never forget it. So I guess there is no way to completely rid myself of heartache only ways to cope and deal with it. To me heartbreak can be what shapes a person and should not necessarily be forgotton or overcome completely. I learned from heartache and in turn it will help me to grow more as a person.

Yes, I can remember that at 3 years old, 11 years old, 18 years old, 28 years old, and beyond. Man is born to trouble, and that is part of the human condition. Most recently, I felt that way as I sat with my dying mother in a hospice, unable to give her any hope or relief from suffering.

I have once. My ex-boyfriend and I got into this really intimate relationship, and he wasn't afraid to tell anyone about us. I thought I had found the one. Well, he broke up with me after about 4 months, and the next day, he was going out with one of my friends. It made me so unhappy, I felt as if my heart was ripping into a dozen pieces. But, it's mended, and I am sooo much better now.

This sounds a little extreme..but I have heard of cases of a guy who could not get out of bed for three days because he was so heartbroken over a girl breaking up with him.

Most guys I know of don't deal with a break up this way. They go out and drink or find another gal right away..but women seem to take this a little harder.

Yes; and that huge lump in the chest/ throat region.
It breaks and unfortunately people that follow will only ever be "second best". Even if they are your soul mate and the right person for you the bad one that broke your heart will always be there.

I have had it for the last 2yrs & 7mths since my partner passed away. He meant the world to me and the pain I feel in my heart is agony. I will never be without the heartache, but somehow I guess I will have to learn to cope.

Yes, it is weird because the heart is just a physical organ that pumps blood, but I definitely felt my heart ache and it was a real pain, or at least it felt like that!
