We all die and it doesn't matter if we stop reading or keep reading the chain letter, but the letter is not the cause of it. Chain letters are at best a waste of time, can be a waste of money and in some cases can be illegal

Chain letters used to be for fun. Somewhere along the line they became hurtful and scary. They are not true, they are attempts to mess with the minds of the innocent and trusting. I'm sorry your son was hurt or frightened by one.

The chain letter was quite obviously a scam.

Those things have been going around for ages, and you never see anything in the newspaper about someones death from a chain letter, right? Heh.

It's not true, it's just a bunch of made up junk.

Oh people have been pulling this kind of nonsense for years, even before the days of the internet! The Guiness book of records refused to acknowledge the world's longest chain letter because the damn things were such a nuisance. It's a load of bo***cks and you should be unafraid to say so to him.

Besides, if letters could curse people, my bank manager would have got me years ago :)

Chain letters are never true - they are actually illegal. Your son's friends are deliquent little unowuts. What kind of "friends" would make somone cry. But don't worry, chain letters are always a scam.

Chain letters have always been around in some form or another. It is only as powerful as the energy you give it. Think nothing of it and treat it as rubbish.

I think you should talk with these kids parents. This is very cruel , not just a prank. If your son suffers that much, this is already a psychological damage. As a matter of fact , this might trigger self-hypnotic reaction, and he might develop a phobia.
Ask the kids to ensure him this has been only a prank.

No , it's not true. These are stupid letters. You should explain to him that it is a stupid "game" . Don't let him to be scared because for every "bad" thing that will happen in his life, he will think that the reason is this letter.

Forgive me for laughing. All chain-mail is fake. You will never have good fortune, meet the one you love, or have something horrible happen to you for reading and not passing on chain mail. How foolish of anyone to believe in the falseities of such folly.
