I am appalled as a white woman. Paris gets to go home. They are trying to put Brandy under the jail. I am surprised that every prison in America is not rioting.

THANK YOU so much for asked this!! I wanted to but didn't want to be the angry black woman. I am also very upset that some people are above the law while other go to jail for less. Just proved that American will always be one sided. That is why other countries have no respect for us. Brandy was not under the influence, she had an accident. Yes someone dead unfortunately, but people have accident everyday should all of them be put in jail. Paris knew she should not have been doing what she was doing. Brandy was never in trouble with the law, while Paris provide that money buys everything! Brandy case was deemed an accident by the courts but the family are the ones pushing the case.

Paris served 5 days for violating probation for driving without a license. I think that's probably what the sentence should have been to begin with. If an average citizen had done the same thing, that's what would have happened. The initial sentence of 45 days was overkill for this offense. I don't like Paris, but facts are facts.

I agree with you to a certain extent, HOWEVER, Paris hasn't killed anyone yet based on her actions. Brandy did!

No matter how much I like Brandy and despise Paris, Brandy should pay for her actions. Yes, Paris should still be in jail but still comparing the two is not that easy when one resulted in loss of life.

I agree with you, it's totally unfair ithat Paris Hilton has got a 'get out of jail free' card - absurd double standard!

The difference with Brandy though, and do correct me if I'm wrong, is that unfortunately there was a death involved in her case, so perhaps that's why she's being treated more harshly.

But I totally agree that Paris should still be behind bars.

Even though the situations are slightly different, this should be obvious that there is still racism today. People tend (mostly white people) to question why everything comes down to a black or white issue. It is not even that anymore (even though it is the majority). There are many different races and cultures are discriminated against on a daily basis, right in our own backyards. It sickens me as well, and I am also a white woman. We all need to realize and understand that we are all the same, we should be treated as human beings. It is sad, but I believe is true, that that day will never come at least in my lifetime or my son's (who is bi-racial). I knew that she would not have to serve the time....

If they were the same crime, the same, district, and the same judge, you might have a point

You're comparing apples and oranges.

There are lots of clear examples of racism in the USA. Anyone who thinks that's been abolished is ignorant. However, outside of the South, I don't think it's rampant.

That racial skin color crap has been beaten to much already, I think they should be roomed together in gen. pop like anyone else . I'm tired of people in general that if things don't go thier way , the only card they seem to want to play is the racial card . Quit it , use the brain your given and find another way out .

I really think it's about who has more money, not race. Not everything is a race issue. And didn't Brandy kill someone?

y,y, y does everything lead to the race issue... paris has a heck of a lot of money and her parents are very influential....she should have stayed in jail.... but lets not make this black and white.
