Why do men want what they can't have? When I was single, I had a lot of guy friends, and as I got engaged many of my male friends began to want to pursue a relationship of being more than just friends. As I got married, many of them are still asking to be more than just friends. Obviously those men are not real friends. My question is, why do men want what they can't have?

Men and women want what they can't have. It's always been that way. Now from your situation standpoint, the situation is probably this. They probably always wanted to be with you. Somehow they got stuck in the friend zone. Now that you're unavailable they have nothing to lose but to tell you how they feel. Kinda silly really.

This is just limitted to men. How many women do you know of who openly brawl with other women who are sleeping with "their man". I am a happily married man and whenever I travel for business and find myself speaking with another woman after hours I ALWAYS talk about my wife. Surprisingly, half the women I end up having a casual converstaion with order a second drink and stick around. Why do you suppose that is???

I am sure its an age old question and the answer has something to do with some biological need for competition or to be the alpha male.

But why are you hanging out with people who are not real friends. Better yet, why are you hanging out with men who want a relationship with you?

Maybe they just don't like seeing people truly happy, so they want to test the waters to see if you are really happy and comitted to your husband- the lucky guy that got you! They won't be so envious if they find out they could have you too. Keep your resolve and be a tiny bit flattered or disgusted. When a guy asks me if I am "happily" married, I just want to slap him. What a turd!

That is not particularly a male gender issue. In my opinion any issue is totally dependent on the pursuEE....not the pursuER. The only advances that are issues, are ones considered to be stalking. Anything else can be doused quite effectively. No ONE appreciates sincere rejection.

Many women do, too.
I guess it's human nature for those people who have not yet matured, whether man or woman.
It's a very childish characteristic!

Well maybe its the way that you are acting that gives off the idea that you want to be with them. It doesn't just magically happen.

because men are hunters and we keep on pursuing until we get the kill then we move on... MOST men will know when enough is enough..

Seems like this is my case too.

Guess "the grass is always greener on the other side."

I'd love to know this answer myself.
