Im pretty sure at only about 4 weeks you shouldn't be eatting like a pig yet, right? Im a young mom (Turning 21 in August) and before Pregnant, lost 30 pounds and hit 165. I was 10 pounds away from my goal and than I found out im pregnant and pretty much can't smoke or do anything that helped me cope with my food urges.

So im eatting terrible. Not bad, but just ALOT and all of the time. I already ate a bagel, 3 cups of grapes, eggs, 2 frozen burritos, 2 fruit by the foots and 2 cookies... oh yeah and 1/2 a string cheese...

Im really stressed out and just food helps... if I wasn't pregnant I would say it doesn't but since I am in my opinion it does. I haven't felt morning sickness since I started eatting like this...

You're being an emotional eater and that has probably very little to do physically with being pregnant. You don't get cravings until after 4 months usually. You should be careful about what you're putting in your body right now because trust me, if you gain a lot of weight during the pregnancy you will hate trying to get it off afterwards. You shouldn't gain more than 25-35 pounds for your current weight.

Plus it's not healthy for the baby for you to eat a lot of processed things (frozen burrito) or sugar (cookies and fruit by the foot has NO nutritional value at all). When your body needs protein a lot of times you will crave junk. Start eating smaller portions of food about 2 hours apart. You should have things like grilled chicken, whole grain bread, leafy green salad with all the fixins (minus fattening dressing and croutons), yogurt with fresh fruit, granola bars (not ones with chocolate chunks and marshmellows).

Read the labels of what you're eating to make sure it's not empty calories because they make you crave more empty calories and you'll just be gaining weight and be unhealthy. Also take your prenatals because until you pass the 12 week mark your baby is developing it's central nervous system and this is a critical time to get enough folic acid. Good luck, email me with any more questions!

This is so funny! I am six weeks pregnant myself and I am going through the same thing! This is my second pregnancy. With my daughter, when I was this far along, I was as sick as a dog. I had sickness so bad, I actually lost weight, from throwing everything up. This is not the case this time around. I can't stop eating. I just can't get full. I'm not sure why, so I don't really have an answer. But I know what you're going through. I'm afraid of gaining too much weight too soon, and it won't be good for the baby. Just so you know, you're not alone. And my only advice would be to enjoy all the good food while this hunger lasts!

I to am 4 weeks going in 5, and I'm eating like crazy. This is my second pregnancy and in my first I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks and prior my cousin noticed I was eating like a pig at her baby shower and predicted I was pregnant, point being is, this is happening again but this time I know I'm pregnant. It seems to me like its rare but normal. Yes emotions have alot to do with it but its better to eat while you can because your going to lose the food and weight once morning sickness kicks in.

it sounds like youre hungry because of your emotions, not because the baby is hungry. especially that early on. you really only need to consume 300 more calories a day than you normally did to aide in the development of your baby. i would have to say limit yourself or you could cause yourself a long hard pregnancy, and difficult labor. eat when youre hungry but make healthy choices like it seems you sometimes do. of course youll get to a point in your pregnancy when you really CRAVE that cookie or whatever and you can give in, but those pregnancy craving probably wont even occur for another few weeks, or few months, which is what really makes me think that you are just eating because youre stressed out. never try to lose weight while pregnanct but watch yourself. and ask you dad! you said hes a doc....good luck!

I ate alot for the first 5 weeks. I'm now 6 weeks along and really can't eat anything. I jsut dont have an appetite. This will probably happen to you, too. Either your appetite will go away or you'll just throw up everything that you eat!! =)

Eat all you want! I ate like a pig for the first three months, and this month it's tend to slow down a lot. The first trimester the baby's developing and taking a lot of your nutrition from you, so that's probably why your so hungry. I was also REALLY tired all the time! Good luck!

You certainly could. I was nauseous a few days before I found out I was pregnant and I've been tired ever since. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. My boobs have hurt for a month now so it's definitely possible.

Congratulations on being a mama!I feel you on the weight loss, i was there too when i got pregnant. and i was a smoker.i did well with weight whlie pg though. see a dr.,you need some kind of therapy to deal with quitting and weight concerns. i had a very hard time but didnt see a dr. i munched carrots, chewed gum,all the time to fight the habit. get support! there are all kinds of help available for quitting. i recomend a dr. of chinese medicine,i have some friends who had great success with herbs. i dont think youre diet is that bad,, but its better to start now. its much harder to lose weight after you have your baby!Good luck and all the best.

I gained 50lbs with my son, he is 13 months and i have yet to lose the last 20. Eat healthy and try not to gain too much weight. Also remember, boredum often makes you think your hungry when your not...
