Money (paper or coin) is supposed to represent someones labor. Many countries have tried to solve their debts to other countries by printing extra money. But, as you pointed out, their money begins to loose value.

You suggest "bartering", that is, trading a product of your labor for the product of someone else's labor. But money represents the same thing. It's merely a convenient way of trading. You sell someone a boat you made, but that someone doesn't have anything that you particularly want - so he gives you "money" so you can use it to get what you want form someone else who has it.
Economics is simple.

People are poor because they lack skills or material goods that are valuable to other people.

Human labor has one of the lowest values for most people.

If all you can do is pick something up and carry it, you don't have much to barter with, hence you will not make much money, especially since a lot of people can pick things up.

If you can look at a person, take samples, run tests on them and interpret those tests to fix what is wrong with that person, you have a marketable skill and people will pay you a lot of money.

Why don't poor people spend more of their time getting better skills?

Some of them don't have access to materials or people to teach them.

In the large cities of America, young people spend too much time wasting their resources and time partying, clubbing, surfing the net in chat rooms, etc... instead of improving their skills.

Then they can't figure out why they are broke.

Because there are too many people who have the same basic skills and they have no advanced skills.

Correct grammer is an incredibly valuable tool, as is communicating in complete sentences.

The trouble with the Barter System is;
Say I have a car you want and you have a camping trailer. You come to me and say, I will trade you my camping trailer for your car. I not want a camping trailer, I want a boat. So, you have to find someone with a boat willing to trade for the camping trailer. Finally you do and come back to me, only to find I traded the car for a motorcycle so I could trade it for a boat. ;-)
It sad some people are poor, but, it not always what we think. Sometimes it their own doing. What I say is a true story and I not mention countries. This lady from America started a business in a country her family had came from many years ago. She just wanted to help her people. She said the problem was, they really did not want to work. Some may come and work a few days and not return for a week or two. She finally just gave up and let the people have the business and returned to America. She said, "I tried, and now it all up to them what they want".
So, with that said;
(1) Some people are poor because of the Economic and Political conditions of where they live.
(2) Some people are poor because they are happy with this lifestyle and want out of the "rat race".
(3) Some people are poor because they just do not want to work, and hope someone take care of them.

There is a saying; "Give a man a fish and he eat for a day. Teach the man to fish and he eat for a lifetime".

But, some not going to fish when you teach them as long as there are people giving them fish!

This makes so much sense until you need more than a star but a certified diploma. At least someone is seeing that we as american citizens are not blind anymore. Why should the world be working so hard and underpaid. reasons being limitation on so many things related to life. Perhaps it is due to ink shortage or paper shortage and they are limited to output. If that would be the case then I would send them some of my paper they agree to make me some money. Neverthless this is a good point and I just hope the right person will get to see and read your answers.
