Well I think it sounds girly myself. And a 2000 cencus says that its a prodominatly girl name in the US. So I would not be so quick to name my boy after a name mostly given to girls. I dont think I would want to run across a girl with my name. I would feel like less of a man lol

These days this type of name seems to go either way -- I think it was originally a name given predominantly to boys, but it is starting to "swing the other way." I still don't think most people assume "girl's name" when they hear it, but that could change in the next few years...I can't believe the number of "boys' names" (esp. those ending in the 'en'/'on' sound) that are being used mostly for girls now! It's not that I don't like them for girls...I just feel bad for the boys/men who were given those names years ago, and now when people hear the names, they think, "Why do you have a girl's name?"

I think that it sound more like a boys name. If you used it for a girl name, it would make a weird first name. I think that it would go good for a girl's middle name. But I like it as a boys first name.

Sounds like a last name and is of a friend of mine so not a good first name. Ok for a middle name. How about Joe Teagan ____. or Josh Teagan _____ or Loene Teagan_____ or Vella Teagan______.

I always thought it was pronounced Tay-gan. I think it's supposed to be Tay-gan, but if you want it Tee-gan, whatever. I consider it a girl's name.

The origin of the name is Welsh, meaning: Good looking. My personal opinion it sounds like a boys name.
