well, it sounds like you'd be better off staying with your parents until you finish school. If you can barely afford day care now how will it be when you're out on your own. I know it can be hard to live with your folks but in your situation, if you want to finish school and get a better job, this is the best situation for you.

What kind of financial aid can your nursing school provide? Stop by the financial aid office and find out. They might be able to help you out with grants, scholarships, or loans.
Where do you work now? If you have started your nursing degree, is it possible to get a job at a local hospital? There is a big shortage of nurses, and one working on a degree might be able to get decent pay. Some bigger hospitals might also provide employee daycare at affordable rates.
When it comes to housing, see if you can find something close to school, and/or along the bus line. If you can cut a car out of your budget, you'll be saving yourself a LOT of money. If that's not possible, you might be able to pay for your car out of student loan money; that said, make sure you get a less expensive used car that won't use a lot of gas.
The first step is to talk to the financial aid office, though. There may be scholarships or grants available for single mothers with financial need. Don't discount student loans, either. With nurses in high demand, you should be able to get a good job upon graduation and repay any outstanding student loans.

Here's the situation
I live alone on my own, I have a brand new car with a wonderfully high payment, My job pays ok, but I was never able to finish my schooling because quite frankly I couldn't afford it. I'm still paying off debt from an abusive marriage where he maxed out all my CC. I have a 3 month old in daycare that I can't afford. I'm a 37 and a single mom.
Sweety, you're not alone and it doesn't get any easier. But we do what we have to do.
I have to find a way to get a lower car payment w/out jeopardizing my way back & forth to work.
Find cheaper daycare w/out compromising quality.
Can't move back in with my parents because they aren't in any condition to be taking on permanent house guests. Oh but I would if I could just to save on the rent.
Stay with your parents until something gives, if you can. Thats a huge help in itself.

Depending what program you are in, you can get your RN in less than 4 years. It would only take me that long with the available programs because I did not graduate high school
( got a GED with wonderful scores, but I haven't been in a classroom in over a decade) and am required to take a few extra classes to brush up on my skills.
Have you considered getting your LPN first? It takes about 18 months. You can begin work as an LPN and move up to RN later. The community college here offers a program for LPN's who have one year working experience. After one year, the LPN can take a few courses, get credit for work experience and become a RN in a short period of time.
LPN's don't make as much as a RN, but it would be more than you make now and enable you to afford to take care of your child, get a better car and move out of your parents house.

i think your better off with your parents. I know how you feel I stayed with my parents and I moved out when I knew I was finacialy stable. It's not easy and daycare is expensive. What you should do is live with your parents until you finish school remember family will always be there for you. Have you tried getting help with daycare I know if your on low income they'll pay for child services.

Talk to the school you want to go to, ask them if they have any daycare options.
Enroll as a full time student in a college. Get student loans and grants. Be a full time student.
If your parents are willing to help out part time with the day care that would be a huge help.

Sounds like you need to find some like minded room mates to share the cost (though that wil be tough with a child) or a sugar daddy.
Where is your baby daddy in all of this?
