Why can’t the so-called experts get of the Global warming band wagon and see that the real problem in the world is over population? A family of four or five given a plot of land can live very comfortably, give the same plot to a family of 9 or 10, they will starve.

It`s one of the contributing factors that I think we should be addressing, and I think we shall have to in the future.

Global warming is a natural phenomenon that has occurred just as frequently as global cooling. Historians know that beginning around 1300 AD the earth cooled off and did not start to warm up again until about 1750.

No amount of legislation is going to stop global warming, even if we are forced to go back to wearing skins and living in caves and eating only what we hunt and gather! Certainly we can all try to save on precious resources and reduce carbon emissions but the overall effect will not make much difference. The earth IS warming although the gloom and doom of some people is ridiculous. The oceans are not going to rise 20 feet - possibly 2 feet, which could be a problem for some areas. It is also not going to happen overnight, but gradually, a fraction of an inch per year or so.

You are right that over-population is a problem, and that should be addressed. And that is certainly something that can be controlled, although education and incentive is a much better method than legislation. (Look at China's "one child" policy. It led to the aborting and murder of female children, resulting in a huge surplus of males who are now coming to maturity and will not be able to find wives which will probably result in social problems of various kinds. On the other hand, in the 80's Germany gave cash bonuses to people to give birth because their population was falling and there would be too few workers to pay the taxes to support the older generation when they retired. Japan has just started doing the same thing for the same reason.)

Meanwhile, the populations of Africa, South America, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent are burgeoning.

Societies that make higher education available to women have much lower birthrates, and higher standards of living, than societies in which women are kept in a submissive and/or subservient role so the key to reducing population seems to be the education of women. (This, of course, is a tough sell to cultures that traditionally consider women as less than equal to men.)

Remember that politicians like to talk and if they talk about things they can't contol (such as global warming) they can come back later and say the fault for failure was not theirs.

Actually I agree with you. Human over population is the worst problem in the world. And we are the major cause of global warming. If we really wanted to solve most of the worlds problems we would have less children (1 child per person at the most). But since religon tells people they can have as many as they want you will never be able to stop people from having more. Reality will hit us when a good airborne virus wipes out most of the population. The question then is will the virus stop our self destruction before global warming wipes us all out?

Interesting you should say that. Overpopulation is the real problem, I agree. Global warming could be symptom of this, but it has also been suggested by scientists that global warming is part of the Earth's own natural cycle. Even so, it's not good to continuously be pumping out rubbish into the atmosphere.
